The location of Penticton being between two lakes makes it an incredible place for beaches. It holds many amazing beaches which serve as recreational centers for both its residents and tourists. Among many, we shall be looking at Okanagan Beach, Skaha Beach, Sudbury Beach, Marina Way Beach, Okanagan Lake Park Beach, and Three Mile Beach. Now let’s take a little tour around these beaches.
The Okanagan Beach
Okanagan Beach is not only the largest but the most popular and most beautiful beach in Penticton BC Canada.
It is located on Okanagan Lake at Lakeshore Drive. The Okanagan Beach features almost one kilometer of premium, sandy beach. Some other features found here are rest rafts, shade trees, kiddie slides, fire pits, a swimming area, and washrooms nearby. This is a place to spend quality time with your family.
Skaha Beach
The Skaha beach, located on Skaha Lake at Skaha Lake Road, features a long stretch of sand, a beachfront promenade, and a calm lake with warm water which is ideal for swimming. This beach is part of Skaha Lake Park which offers so many features such as sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, a tennis court, water parks, and much more.
Sudbury Beach
Sudbury Beach is also located on Skaha Lake, west of Skaha Beach. It offers a huge beach area, concession, volleyball courts, a swimming area, fire pits, rest rafts, and washrooms.
Marina Way Beach
Marina Way Beach is located on Okanagan Lake, at Marina Way, close to Okanagan Marina. It is also adjacent to Marina Way Park and features a small sandy beach, seasonal toilets nearby, limited parking, and a swimming area.
Okanagan Lake Park Beach
The beautiful beach of Okanagan Lake Park is found on the shores of Okanagan Lake, just east of the Penticton Lakeside Resort. It is a wonderful place to have a picnic due to its diverse features such as the sandy beach, a fenced off-leash area for dogs, washrooms, lights, parking space, and sightseeing for wildlife. Penticton creek enters Okanagan Lake on the eastern part of the park, revealing ducks and other water floating creatures in the creek. Okanagan Lake Park Beach also offers opportunities for adventurers such as a day moorage for pleasure boats, and several events and festivals that hold from May through October.
Three Mile Beach
It features two beaches, one for swimming and the other for day moorage boating, and they are located on Okanagan Lake at Three Mile Road, just off Naramata Road. In addition, dogs are allowed on the boating beach.
